On 31st October 1991, fresh off the release of what was to become the seminal album of a generation, Nirvana took to the stage of Seattle’s famed Paramount Theatre to an unwavering homecoming crowd while on the road in support of the album Nevermind (1991) released the previous month. Launching the nineteen song set with a brilliant cover of the Vaselines “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam”, the band cranks out their soon-to-be iconic songs “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Lithium” and “Breed”, while delivering earlier fan favourites “School”, (the Shocking Blue cover) “Love Buzz” and “About A Girl”.
On the 5th April 2019, 25 years after the tragic passing of frontman Kurt Cobain, Geffen/Universal will release Live At The Paramount on vinyl for the first time ever. This will be the first time the audio recordings have been available as a stand-alone release outside of its inclusion as bonus material on the now unavailable Nevermind 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition 2011 reissue. Live At The Paramount was the only Nirvana show ever to be shot on 16mm film. The live performance in its entirety was released on DVD in 2011 as part of the Nevermind 20th Anniversary reissues, whilst a handful of songs were included on the live compilation video Live! Tonight!! Sold Out!! (1994).
This vinyl format will include a 12×24” poster insert and a sticky cloth VIP pass replica of the original pass used that very night of the concert as the vinyl download card insert. The download instructions will be on the paper backing, not on the pass itself.
