Evicted In The Morning is a collaborative effort between Iranian-Canadian brothers Mohammad and Mehdi Mehrabani-Yeganeh aka Saint Abdullah (who have released music on Important Records, Room40 and Nicolas Jaar’s Other People label), and drummer Jason Nazary, perhaps best known for his work with the late, great Jaimie Branch as one half of Anteloper (International Anthem).

There’s definitely a lot to love here for fans of recent output by the aforementioned Chicago label (Irreversible Entanglements and Ben LaMar Gay would be appropriate fellow travellers), but also sounds that make us think of the subdued shadow moves of Mo’ Wax’s Headz compilations, the more dub-informed end of post-rock heard on early records by Tortoise, the illbient productions of DJ Spooky, the glitchy sampledelia of Jan Jelinek, and the more electronica infused late period Pentimento records by Jon Hassell.
